Doc's Commentary:
Cosmos Beliefs and Practices Part I
In the Nov/Dec 2003 e-Institute Discourse
entitled; “Evolving on the path of Life” we encouraged our readers and clients
to take a moment and establish who they really are. And from this awareness
evolve into the being they were meant to be. Then it occurred to me that if we
want you, my readers and clients, to take Cosmos Institute seriously, then it is
important we commit to writing the fundamental principles that motivates the
Wellness Doc and us in particular. The commentary seems the ideal vehicle to
record this as it will be a permanent part of the website and always available
as we publish future issues of the e-institute.
So why did the Wellness Doc (see “about us”)
start this adventure? When I closed the chemical business I had been involved in
for 34 years I was faced with the question; “What am I going to do with the rest
of my life?” Before I could answer that question I had to take a serious look at
my current life to understand how I got to where I was. Knowing that everything
happens for a purpose and in its divine time frame, I was aware that there had
to be a reason for the circumstances that caused me to close the business where
I had spent so much time and effort. So at age 52 I started along the path of
that life review.
My years in the Jaycee’s and the corporate
business world taught me that civic and corporate politics were not the area of
activity for Bill Warner. While there is nothing wrong with these worlds, for
many, for me I learned a lot but came to the realization that the political
world was not the reason I was sent to earth in this incarnation. I gave thanks
for the opportunities I had experienced in my life up to that point but
determined to find another path to express the real me. I also understood, from
early in life, thanks to the teachings of my grandmother and parents, that I am
personally responsible for what happens to me and I have the power to change
anything I don’t like.
As I looked over my past efforts their were a
number of positive realizations I came to understand.
-
I was happiest when I was teaching and conducting
seminars and workshops in subjects that I was interested in.
-
My interest in hypnosis goes back to my childhood
and I understood that was the tool I subconsciously used to allow me to control
my own mind, and bring about all the good things that have happened in my life.
-
The early knowledge that I am a spiritual being,
and so is every other living organism. Therefore, there is a spiritual guide
within me that is involved in every decision I make. If I consult that spiritual
part of me my decisions turn out good and if I don’t, my decisions and
situations turn out bad.
-
I determined that I should study hypnotherapy so
I could better utilize its wonderful power more efficiently for the remainder of
my life. During the time I was in my certification workshop for Past Life
Regression and Time Line Therapy, I experienced a past life survey and found out
that in my last incarnation I was also in the chemical business and left it then
for many of the same reasons I left the business this time. When the light bulb
went off, I knew part of the reason for my incarnation in this life was to
challenge me if I learned the lessons I was supposed to.
-
In that previous incarnation, I was involved with
chemicals used to make gunpowder and war material. Even then I was opposed to
war as a solution to man’s efforts to solve problems and I left the chemical
business at that time. Now I know the source of my beliefs about war and why I
was born when I was; I was too young for Korea and too old for Vietnam. And why
I made a decision in 1959 while in the Navy Reserve to allow me to miss that
unfortunate war. Again, everything happens for a reason and in my life I can
thank the Lebanon crisis of 1959 for leading me to the decision to complete my
military obligation and not to pursue the path of a Naval Officer. While I
supported our troops and grieved when I saw the American people’s display of
non-support for our military I didn’t approve of the aggression which has never
been solved by war. When it was all over the South Vietnam people were not free
to experience the blessings of a democratic state. During this current
incarnation and chemical experience, I realized that the advances in chemistry
has resulted in major damage to our planet, lives, world peace, and our own
personal health that I didn’t want to be a part of it anymore. In fact, I
suspect the activity of my parents in the chemical business may have had
something to do with their challenge with Alzheimer’s. The probability of both
husband and wife contacting Alzheimer’s is unusual low.
-
I realized I was blessed with a healthy genetic
start in life and it was my responsibility to keep my life in a healthy
condition. I couldn’t do that by poisoning the environment that I lived in, and
by an unhealthy lifestyle if I expected to stay healthy for a long and
productive life.
-
I enjoyed the intellectual exposure of a
continuing education, and realized that educational pursues would be a part of
my activities for the rest of my life. Learning is a life long experience and
when my parents finally suffered the dementia of old age, I determined I wasn’t
going to let that happen to me. I needed to find a way to improve my situation
in the last decade of life. I realized I enjoyed and functioned better in the
stimulation of the academic world than the stress of the corporate world.
With these points in mind the concept of Cosmos
Institute of Holistic Science began to take shape. We will continue with the
Wellness Doc Odyssey and how Cosmos Institute developed in the next page of
Doc’s Commentary. Be sure to stop by in February for the continued story.
